Announcing a forthcoming votives art exhibition! “When the heart of a pig has hardened, dice it small” is a contemporary art exhibition taking place in Tinos, Greece between 18-31 July this year. Spearheaded by KIRKI – a new nomadic gallery creating transnational dialogues between the UK and the Greek Cyclades – the exhibition showcases 30 artworks by 10 UK-based and Greek contemporary artists.

Each year, KIRKI invites artists to respond to the geography, local life, customs and culture of each host island, with this year’s theme taking a hyper-local look at votive offerings (“tamata”) and their social and spiritual significance across cultures.

The Votives Project is planning to publish a retrospective piece on the exhibition in the Autumn, but in the meantime, you can read the exhibition press release, Good luck to the KIRKI team with this inaugural venture!
